A medium composition for growing mushrooms containing diatomaceous earth to remove pathogens such as harmful microorganisms, fungi and the like and pests is provided to grow healthy and quality mushroom and to improve mushroom productivity. A medium composition for growing mushrooms contains 0.25 to 0.5% by weight of diatomaceous earth with a particle size of 40 to 60microns, 9.75 to 12% by weight of a corn by-product, 41 to 55% by weight of wheat bran, 5 to 10% by weight of rice bran, 1 to 8% by weight of beat pulp, 3 to 5% by weight of molasses, 8 to 14% by weight of corn gluten, 8 to 11% by weight of palm meal, 4 to 7% by weight of vegetable oil meal and 1 to 2% by weight of a mineral supplement. The mineral supplement comprises 0.04 to 0.06% by weight of cobalt sulfate, 2.2 to 5.6% by weight of copper sulfate, 7.0 to 9.0% by weight of iron sulfate, 4.2 to 6.5% by weight of manganese sulfate, 3.7 to 5.7% by weight of zinc sulfate, 0.04 to 0.07% by weight of calcium iodate, 0.01 to 0.02% by weight of sodium selenite and 77.2 to 78.1% by weight of calcium carbonate. |
