#CMT# #/CMT# The device (10) has an air filter (14) arranged downstream of an ambient air intake duct (12) and filtering ambient air in upstream of a compressor (22). A filtered air intake duct (18) is arranged between the filter and the compressor. A buffer volume (20) is arranged upstream of an inlet of the compressor, and has a passage section larger than that of an upstream section (19) of the filtered air intake duct to create a boundary of surface of the passage section by considering flow direction of the air. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Air intake device for supplying air to a compressor i.e. turbo-compressor, of an air supercharged oil engine in a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The passage section of the buffer volume is larger than that of the upstream section of the filtered air intake duct to create the boundary of surface of the passage section by considering the air flow direction, thus locally modifying the rate of filtered air in the inlet of the compressor, and hence avoiding pumping phenomenon in order to increase the overall yield of the turbo-compressor. The buffer volume in the inlet of the compressor increases boost pressure level and full load performances of the engine, thus improving the yield of the engine.
