The machine has a former cutting station and later cutting station of the edges of the plates of slate, in which plates of slate are transferred from one station to another. Some stops are also arranged between stations that pushes the plates of slate to a driving unit of advance. The driving unit supports the plates of slate. A pressure unit is also provided for advancing plates against the driving unit. The driving unit is an endless tape with two straps, which are deposited by a transportation unit. An independent claim is also included for a cutting method for plate of slate.
