PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus with an inexpensive configuration and a camera shake prevention function, which is protected from a shock. SOLUTION: An acceleration G is measured on the basis of data detected by a camera shake prevention acceleration detection section (100), and a frequency T is detected on the basis of the measured acceleration G (102). When the acceleration G is a threshold value K or below, and the frequency T is a threshold value T0 or below, it is detected that the digital camera (photographing apparatus) is falling off (104), a lens collapse process drives a motor of a zoom lens drive circuit to collapse the lens barrel, and a lens barrier closing process drives a motor of a lens barrier drive circuit to close the lens barrier (106).
