摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a display device by which manufacture efficiency is improved to enhance manufacturing yield and the strength of a substrate end face can be enhanced even in a thin display panel. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device 10 includes the steps of: preparing a TFT substrate 42 having a segment of a first display element; preparing a CF substrate 41 having a segment of a second display element; laminating the prepared TFT substrate 42 with the CF substrate 41 to form a large laminated substrate 43; forming an etching protection film 61 on at least one of the outer surfaces of the TFT substrate 42 and the CF substrate 41 constituting the large laminated substrate 43, in a region corresponding to the segment of each display element; and etching the large laminated substrate 43 on which the etching protection film 61 is formed so as to remove the outside portion of the segment of each display element in a plan view of the large laminated substrate 43.
