PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress excessive generation of heat by easily limiting the longest on-period of time even in a small solenoid incapable of being directly energized. SOLUTION: The slit device includes a slit mechanism 16 adjusting a light amount in a spectrophotometer, the solenoid 22 changing over the slit mechanism 16, a control circuit 24 generating a control signal to control turning on/off of energization to the solenoid 22, a drive transistor 26 supplying a current for changing over the slit mechanism to the solenoid 22, and a limit circuit 28 disposed between the control circuit 24 and the drive transistor 26, generating a drive signal driving energization to the solenoid 22 by the drive transistor 26 on the basis of the control signal, and limiting the longest period of time of the drive signal.
