A dendron having an azide group, and a method for preparing the dendron are provided to obtain dendron having various functional groups at terminal, thereby applying it to biochemistry field such as drug delivery, gene treatment, imaging, etc. A dendron having an azide group is represented by the formula 1, wherein R is a C1-C20 alkyl group, an ethylene oxide (-CH2CH2O-) group having a repeating unit of 1-1,000, an aromatic ring comprising benzene, naphthalene or anthracene, an aromatic alkyl group having an aromatic ring comprising benzene, naphthalene or anthracene, a hetero aromatic group containing O, S or N, or a hetero aromatic alkyl group containing O, S or N; R1 is independently a C1-C20 alkyloxy group, a C1-C20 dialkylaminoalkyloxy group, a hydroxyl group, an alkylpolyethylene oxide oxy group having a C1-C10 alkyl group, a C1-C20 hydroxyalkyl aromatic alkyloxy group, or a C1-C20 hydroxyalkyloxy group; and n is an integer of 0-10.
