<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow dropping damage prevention overhead power line capable of preventing snow dropping damage by splitting snow adhering to the overhead power line to break and reduce the size of dropping snow instead of melting the snow adhering to the overhead power line as a whole. <P>SOLUTION: Snow melting rings 1 are attached to the overhead power line 5 at intervals in its longitudinal direction. The snow melting ring 1 is composed by forming a heat insulating layer on the inside surface of a ferromagnetic ring 2. Since the heat insulating layer is interposed between the ferromagnetic ring 2 and the overhead power line 5, heat generated in the ferromagnetic ring is hardly absorbed to the overhead power line. The temperature of each ferromagnetic ring efficiently rises, snow only on parts with the rings attached thereto is surely melted in snowfall, and the snow adhering to the overhead power line is split in the longitudinal direction. By reducing the snow melting ring attachment interval D to a level (for instance, 50 cm) without damaging a structure below the line even if snow drops, damage due to dropping snow can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
