<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbicidal composition exerting high controlling effects on bacteria, fungi, yeast, algae, etc., and to provide coatings, inks, resin emulsions, metal machining oils and moistening water, each containing the composition, respectively. <P>SOLUTION: The microbicidal composition comprises 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and imazalil or a salt thereof in the weight ratio of the former to the latter of (1:100) to (10:1).
