PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling stiffening brace capable of facilitating construction and control of a clearance. SOLUTION: A rib plate 20 having a hole part 24 having a larger inner shape than an outer shape of a brace member 16 is attached to a cross section of a steel pipe 18 and is fixed by welding. The hole part 24 of the rib plate 20 is worked in advance in such a way that the dimension of a clearance C1 in the vertical direction between the steel pipe 18 and the hole part 24 and the dimension of a clearance C2 in the right and left directions become predetermined values. The brace member 16 is inserted in the direction of arrow mark Z to form the buckling stiffening brace 10. Since a clearance between the brace member 16 and an internal wall 22 of the steel pipe 18 is adjusted by the rib plate 20 in this way, construction of the buckling stiffening brace 10 and control of the clearances become easy.
