The production of bactericidal charcoal by silver impregnation for absorbing substances such as halogen containing organic substances and microorganisms from water in water filtration system, comprises impregnating the charcoal by introducing silver lactate solution with an excess of lactic acid into the charcoal under reduced pressure by ultrasonic nozzle, thermally drying the impregnated charcoal and treating the dried charcoal with microwave in a discontinuous charging process for fixing the silver on the charcoal.
