<p>A system and method for controlling a traffic signal that more precisely displays information on how much time remains before the traffic signal changes to a pedestrian, without an additional hardware device are provided. The system comprises a first lamp driver controlling turning on, flashing, and turning off a first lamp, a second lamp driver controlling turning on, flashing, and turning off a second lamp; and a traffic signal controller controlling the first and second lamp drivers to turn on the first lamp for a predetermined first period from a start point of a walk signal period, flash the first lamp for a predetermined second period after the first period during the walk signal period, flash the second lamp for a predetermined third period during the walk signal period, and turn on the second lamp during a don't walk signal period, and maintain turning off of the first lamp.</p> |
