METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ERROR CORRECTION IN MULTIPLE-INPUT MULTIPLE-OUTPUT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for correcting an error in a MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) communication system are provided to reduce the complexity of a turbo-BLAST(Serial Interference Cancellation) MIMO system and to improve a processing speed by reducing the average repeating frequency of a turbo-BLAST. A method for correcting an error in a MIMO communication system includes the steps of: operating the soft decision of frames received from a plurality of antennas; outputting LLR(Log Likelihood Ratio) values about information bits of the frames and first parity bits after repeatedly decoding the soft decision result; generating second parity bits by encoding the information bits calculated from the LLR values, and comparing the first parity bits calculated from the LLR values and the encoded second parity bits; and outputting the information bits when the first parity bits and the second parity bits are equal to each other, and repeatedly performing the previous steps by feeding back the LLR values as the advance information of the soft decision when the first parity bits and the second parity bits are not equal to each other.
