PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To designate a display screen serving as a secondary screen of a main display screen.

SOLUTION: In pip_metadata, there is described information necessary for picture-in-picture display. In a primary video frame, a pip_horizontal_position indicates an X coordinate of an upper left corner on a sub display screen for secondary video display and a pip_vertical_position indicates a Y coordinate of the upper left corner on the sub display screen for secondary video display in the primary video frame. In a pip_scale, there is described information indicating the size of the sub display screen on which the secondary video is displayed. For example, there is described a size ratio of sub video to primary video, a shrink ratio of a secondary video image size to an original image size or information indicating how many pixels are employed to form the width and length of the secondary display screen.
