<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear airbag for an automobile stored on an inner side of a ceiling plate so as to also function as a mass-damper by ensuring the strength of a roof rear header. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag storage part is formed in a recession part 2c between a front end flange part 2a and a rear end flange part 2e of the roof rear header 2 joined to a rear end of a roof panel 1 respectively, and an inflator 11 stored in the recession part is supported on a support plate 19 provided on the roof rear header 2 so as to add the mass to the roof panel 1. By operation of the inflator 11 at a rear-end collision, an opening area of the ceiling plate 3 is released to be deployed/inflated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
