<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease of the cleaning capability due to fatigue of a cleaning part in an image forming apparatus equipped with a cleaning mechanism for an LED head. <P>SOLUTION: The LED head 14 which exposes a photosensitive drum 12 is attached to a slide member 51. The slide member 51 moves between an adjacent position where the LED head 14 is made adjacent to the photosensitive drum 12 and an isolate position where the LED head is isolated from the photosensitive drum 12. A rotating arm 81 is set to freely rotate about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the LED head 14 and to freely move parallel along the axis. The rotating arm 81 is equipped with a brush 85 for cleaning of the LED head 14. An urging spring 84 is also installed which presses the brush 85 to the LED head 14 side present at the isolate position. A slanting cam 88 contacts to rotate the rotating arm 81 at both ends of a parallel movement stroke of the rotating arm 81, thereby isolating the brush 85 from the LED head 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
