PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide thermal insulation barrier jointing construction of a liquefied natural gas carrier which uniforms thickness of an adhesive of a joint as well as its method. SOLUTION: The thermal insulation barrier jointing construction is configured so that an FRC spliced plate 30 is joined to an FRC reinforced plate 16 by the adhesive so as to be positioned on a joint 18 of thermal insulation barriers 10, 12, and that a space maintenance means 50 which uniformly maintains the thickness of the adhesive 40 is intersected between the FRC reinforced plate and the FRC spliced plate. The space maintenance means comprises any one of a plurality of wires, a plurality of beads, a fiber mat or a plurality of protuberances and grooves which are formed on the whole surface of the FRC spliced plate. Method of jointing the thermal insulation barriers includes step of arranging the space maintenance means on the FRC reinforced plate around circumference of the joint of the thermal insulation barriers, and then coating the adhesive on the space maintenance means. Furthermore, it includes step of affixing the FRC spliced plate on the adhesive, curing the adhesive after pressing the FRC spliced plate with respect to the FRC reinforced plate, and joining the FRC spliced plate on the FRC reinforced plate.
