摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end face excitation fine-rod laser gain module which can realize the improvement of cooling efficiency of a laser gain medium and the improvement of beam quality of an outputted laser light. <P>SOLUTION: An end face excitation fine-rod laser gain module 1 includes a laser gain medium 10 of fine rod having rectangular cross section, a heat sink 20 to cool the laser gain medium 10, and a first and second excitation light sources 30, 31 which carry out incidence of excitation lights from the end surfaces 11a, 11b of the laser gain medium 10. The heat sink 20 has a cooling space 29 to circulate a cooling medium inside, while the end surfaces 11a, 11b of the laser gain medium 10 are exposed outside of the cooling space 29 respectively, the vicinity of the end surfaces 11a, 11b is held to be liquid-tight, and the portion other than the vicinity of the end surfaces 11a, 11b of the laser gain medium 10 is located in the cooling space 29. In the opposed two sides 12c, 12d of the laser gain medium 10, low conductive heat transfer layers 50, 51 composed of a low heat conductive material are formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
