This invention provides a heavy-duty pneumatic tire which can prevent a deterioration caused by oxidation of a bead portion in its area, where a high level of heat generation occurs, and is excellent in persistence/durability of the inner pressure holding performance of the tire. The heavy-duty pneumatic tire comprises a carcass and an inner liner provided on the inner side of the carcass. The heavy-duty pneumatic tire is characterized in that a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a thermoplastic resin or a blend of the thermoplastic resin with an elastomer is disposed in a bead part provided on the inner side of the carcass to wrap a part to at least the front end of the bead toe (P_B) or from the front end of the bead toe (P_B) to a part underneath the bead, and the thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising the thermoplastic resin or the blend of thermoplastic resin with the elastomer overlap with the inner liner by at least 2 mm in the widthwise direction of the tire.
