<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of discriminating a projection for limiting the height of a vehicle in which a transmission photoelectric sensor having a slit for narrowing the light receiving area of a light receiving element according to the storage limit height of the vehicle is disposed in the vehicle movement route of a mechanical parking apparatus extending from the inlet to parking compartments, the projection projecting to the upper side of the vehicle moving along the vehicle moving route is detected by the transmission photoelectric sensor having the slit, the length of the detected pulses are amplified, and it is surely discriminated according to the length of the detected pulses after the amplification whether the projection in the height direction of the vehicle is an antenna or not. <P>SOLUTION: When the detection pulses S36 of the projection projecting to the upper side of the vehicle moving along the vehicle moving route can be obtained by the transmission photoelectric sensor 36 having the slit as shown in Fig.b(III), it can be determined that the antenna 34a projects in an unfolded state. When the detected pulses for the projection 34a projecting to the upper side of the vehicle 34 moving along the vehicle moving route cannot be obtained by the transmission photoelectric sensor 42 without the slit, it can be determined that a projection other than the antenna for limiting the height of the vehicle is not present. Consequently, it can be discriminated that the projection 34a in the height direction of the vehicle 34 is the antenna by taking the detection signals S36, S42 from two sensors 36, 42 into consideration complementarily to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
