<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can copy a manuscript without lowering the security even if the manuscript has unreadable code information. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus reads a manuscript with at least a password for restricting copying and document management information for managing manuscripts embedded therein as code information, and controls copying according to the code information. The image forming apparatus comprises a scanner 11 which reads the manuscript and outputs image data; a code information detector 100 which detects code information from the image data which has been read; and a controller 16 which, when detecting a page where part of the code information is missed, compares the detected code information and code information in an other page, and when they are the same, permits copying the page where part of the code information is missed, subject to successful authentication using authentication information of the other page. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
