PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain increase in an axial width of a cam abutting member on which a valve system cam is abutted in order to drive an engine valve and enlargement of a camshaft, and to maintain sufficient lubricating performance of a cam surface of the valve system cam. SOLUTION: The decompression device for the internal engine E is equipped with: a decompression shaft 40 provided on the camshaft C; and a plunger 50 housed in plunger holes 61 and 62 provided on the camshaft C movably in the radial direction of the camshaft C. The plunger 50 operated by the decompression device 40 is provided with a pushing part 51a abutting on a rocker arm 25, and is moved in the plunger holes 61 and 62 between a decompression position pushing and opening an exhaust valve and a decompression release position not opening the exhaust valve. The plunger holes 61 and 62 are opened to the cam surface in a position overlapped with a part of the cam surface of an exhaust cam 23 in the axial direction of the camshaft C.
