PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively suppress fretting abrasion caused by friction of a snap ring 27 with a shaft 3, in a starter 1. SOLUTION: According to this starter 1, the snap ring 27 is stored in an annular internal space 30 formed by the tip end part of a pinion stopper 25 and the shaft 3, and also resin is filled therein, thereby forming a resin part 32. Thereby, the snap ring 27 can not be moved in the internal space 30 and friction of the snap ring 27 with the shaft 3 is not generated, therefore possibility to cause fretting abrasion is remarkably reduced. Resin is filled selectively according to a vehicle equipped with the starter 1. Therefore, when the starter is mounted on a vehicle having no strong vibration, it is not necessary to fill resin, and costs can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
