PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal member capable of securely sealing a three-face mating part even when respective thermal expansion amounts of a cylinder head, cylinder block, and chain case are different. SOLUTION: The seal member 7 for sealing the three-face mating part 5 comprises a first seal piece 71 for sealing between a lower surface 2a of the cylinder head 2 and an upper surface 3a of the cylinder block 3, a second seal piece 72 projected to between a front side end part 2A of a cylinder head lower surface from a rear side surface 71a of the first seal piece, and a front side end part 3A of a cylinder block upper surface, for sealing between the front side end part of the cylinder head lower surface and the front side end part of the cylinder upper surface, a first rib 73 for connecting obliquely between the rear side surface upper part of the first seal piece and an upper surface 72a of the second seal piece, and a second rib 74 for connecting obliquely between a rear side surface lower part of the first seal piece and a lower surface 72b of the second seal piece.
