PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable pigment composition having strengthened interaction between an acidic group which is considered as a pigment-adsorbing part in a polyester, and a pigment derivative by using a carboxy group-containing polyester for dispersion of a pigment, suitable for an offset ink, a gravure ink, an inkjet ink, a coating material, a colored urethane resin composition or the like, and having excellent dispersibility, nonaggregative properties and fluidity, and to provide a pigment dispersion. SOLUTION: The pigment composition contains a carboxy group-containing polyester obtained by reacting an acid anhydride group in a tetracarboxylic anhydride (a) with a hydroxy group in a polyol compound (b), and a pigment.
