The operability of a device having a top plate is improved and erroneous operation is prevented. A heating cooker comprises an electrostatic touch key including an electrode section provided on the back of the top plate and formed of a conducting coating having a light-shielding property and a conductivity, an operation section light-emitting body for illuminating a key indicating part formed by cutting a part of the electrode section with light from the back of the electrode section, and a light-emission control section for controlling the light emission of the operation section light-emitting body so as to change the light-emitting state of the shape of the key indicating part seen through the top plate. The light-emission control section enables identification of the function and operation effectiveness of the electrostatic touch key by changing the light-emitting state of the key indicating part of the electrode section. By controlling the light-emitting state such as turn-on, blinking, turn-off, or luminance adjustment of the operation section light-emitting body, information necessary for operation is provided.
