A multi-functional switch for an automobile is provided to prevent grease from being flowed into a contact part by installing the contact part at a high position of the automobile. A multi-function switch for an automobile includes a left and right lever(230) and a body part. A light gear(210) is formed to convert rotatory motion of the left and right lever to horizontal motion. A pinion gear(220) is used for converting up/down motion of the left and right lever to vertical motion. A dimmer cap(310) is used for converting the vertical motion and the horizontal motion of the light gear and the pinion gear to rotatory motion. A switch contact is used for performing on/off operations corresponding to the rotation of the dimmer cap.
