<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively removing chlorine contained in the electrodeposited copper which is obtained from an acidic chloride bath through an electrorefining or electrowinning process. <P>SOLUTION: This dechlorination method comprises the steps of: heating the electrodeposited copper which has been obtained from the acidic chloride bath through the electrorefining or electrowinning process, at 500 to 800°C in an atmosphere of a non-oxidizing gas; cleaning the electrodeposited copper with surfuric acid; and rinsing the electrodeposited copper with water. The method also includes cleaning the electrodeposited copper with dilute hydrochloric acid or an aqueous solution of sodium chloride and rinsing it with water, prior to the heating step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
