PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain an increase in the number of sectors to be reassigned, and to reduce processing time according to commands. SOLUTION: When an HDC/MPU 23 determines that timeout occurs before the processing of a command for requesting read/write of a plurality of sectors is completed, the HDC/MPU 23 selects sectors to be reassigned from accessed sectors in the medium for registering in a reassign candidate table 241 according to a prescribed standard. Further, the HDC/MPU 23 reassigns a registered sector at prescribed timing, thus suppressing the number of sectors to be reassigned and reducing processing time to a command for requesting access to a plurality of sectors.
