PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of process steam which not only converts a pressure of the process steam into high a pressure value from a low pressure value, but also converts the pressure into a low pressure value from a high pressure value. SOLUTION: A branch pipe 7 is connected by installing directional control valve 5 and 6 in an intermediate pressure process steam supply pipe 2. The branch pipe 7 is connected to a screw type rotor part 8 of a steam compressor and expander 4 via a heat exchanger 18. A lower part of the screw type rotor part 8 is connected to a low pressure process stem supply pipe 3 by a connecting pipe 17. Intermediate pressure steam is reduced in pressure by expanding, by supplying the intermediate pressure steam to the screw type rotor part 8 from the intermediate pressure process steam supply pipe 2, by operating the directional control valves 5, 6, 15 and 16. On the contrary, low pressure steam is increased in pressure by being compressed, by supplying the low pressure steam to the screw type rotor part 8 from the low pressure process steam supply pipe 3.
