PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well restrain rotation around the axis of rocker arm shafts, in a valve gear of an internal combustion engine having the rocker arm shafts on a cylinder head. SOLUTION: A cutout part 81 is formed on the respective rocker arm shafts 58 and 59, and a regulating plate 82 having a pair of rotation preventive parts 84 is arranged for regulating rotation of the respective rocker arm shafts 58 and 59. The regulating plate 82 is provided with a projection part 86 capable of pressing this plate, and is provided with a bolt inserting hole 85 long in the pressing direction. The regulating plate 82 is fixed to the cylinder head 24 by using a fastening bolt 83 inserted into the bolt inserting hole 85 in a state of bringing the respective rotation preventive parts 84 and the cutout part 81 into close contact with each other, by pressing the regulating plate 82 by using the projection part 86.
