A rapid prototyping process is used in which wax particles are deposited on a substrate to form a layer and then liquid wax is dropped onto specific areas of the layer and cooled to form a solidified structure of both wax materials. The two stages are then repeated several times to build up layers of solidified material which can be in the same and in other areas. The solidified structure is then separated from the non-solidified wax to give a lost model. An Independent claim is made for a use of the process for production of a lost casting model.
