A metal can with a spout and a pivotable handle (20) is disclosed. The handle is shaped so that in a stored position it at least partially surrounds the spout and has a maximum width at least equal to the height of the spout with a closure (18) attached, to protect the spout against impacts. The pivotal attachment of the spout to the top of the can holds the handle in its stored position until it is manually moved to an in-use position.
