A GEAR SHIFT LEVER LOCK INCLUDES A LOCK BASE (2) FORMED WITH A PAIR OF INSERT HOLES (21) AND HAVING A KEY-OPERATED LOCKING UNIT (23) PROVIDED THEREON, AND A SHACKLE (3) HAVING PARALLEL END PORTIONS (31) WHICH CAN BE EXTENDED INTO THE INSERT HOLES (21) SO AS TO BE LOCKED RELEASABLY THEREIN BY THE LOCKING UNIT (23). THE LOCK BASE (2) HAS A TOP FACE FORMED WITH A PAIR OF RETAINING RINGS (25) WHICH CONFINE A PAIR OF OPENINGS (251) THAT PERMIT THE END PORTIONS (31) OF THE SHACKLE (3) TO EXTEND SLIDABLY AND RESPECTIVELY THERETHROUGH. THE LOCK BASE (2) IS FURTHER FORMED WITH A PAIR OF RECEIVING HOLES (26), EACH OF WHICH EXTENDS TO THE OPENING (251) OF A RESPECTIVE ONE OF THE RETAINING RINGS (25) AND HAS A RETAINING BALL (27) AND A SPRING (28) DISPOSED THEREIN. THE SPRING (28) BIASES THE RETAINING BALL (27) TO EXTEND INTO THE OPENING (251) OF THE RESPECTIVE ONE OF THE RETAINING RINGS (25). (FIG. 3)
