<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte film having excellent durability and penetration resistance to fuels such as methanol and good properties such as output and proton conductivity, a method for producing the film and a fuel cell produced by using the polymer electrolyte film. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte film is produced from a polymer composition containing (A) a polymer containing a sulfonic acid group and having a structure expressed by chemical formula 1 in the molecule and (B) a compound expressed by chemical formula 2 by reacting the allyl group of the compound of chemical formula 2 by heat-treatment, etc. In the chemical formula 1, X is -S(=O)<SB>2</SB>- or -C(=O)-; Y is H or a univalent cation; Z<SP>1</SP>is O or S; Z<SP>2</SP>is any of O, S, -C(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-, -C(CF<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-, -CH<SB>2</SB>- or cyclohexyl group; and n1 is an integer of ≥0.
