PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that if a solid material such as alumina for carrying is attempted to be forcedly adhered onto cell wall surfaces by using the same slurry as before, the coat layer thickens and cell clogging is more and more generated since the cell density becomes higher recently year by year, while the use of a slurry of which the viscosity is reduced by decreasing the amount of a binder causes a solid material to be discharged without adhering onto the cell wall surfaces after the slurry flows into the cells, hardly securing a desired amount of the adhered solid material.
SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 1 for slurry coating consists of a porous body. Pores 7 of an opening size (r) of 2 μm or less are dispersively formed on the cell wall surfaces 5 formed in a structural body. Preferably, the total volume (v) of the pores 7 is larger than 0 ml and 0.17 ml or smaller to the structure of 1 g.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
