PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem involved in the conventional high voltage pulse sterilization that a gap between electrodes for applying a pulse is not made small, and a high voltage pulse therefore is necessary in order to generate an electric field of about≥10 kV/cm required for physically destroying bacteria, and since bacteria are scattered in fluid, even a high voltage pulse is applied to the fluid, the pulse is not always applied to bacteria and can not kill the bacteria in a lot causing low sterilization efficiency. SOLUTION: An AC power supply is applied to a space between electrodes 4, 5, and bacteria 9 in fluid at a flow passage 6 are collected by dielectrophoresis (bacteria concentration). When the bacteria concentration reaches a prescribed concentration, a detection signal is emitted from a bacteria concentration detection part 13, and a pulse power source 12 is applied to an electrode 10 and the electrodes 4, 5. The bacteria are killed in a lot, and pulse voltage can be made low when the gap G in the flow passage 6 is made small, thus satisfactory sterilization efficiency is obtained.
