PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior wall structure capable of improving both waterproofness and dew-proofness the exterior wall by applying building paper from an inner side after installing panels for building when the work has to be performed in a narrow space in which any scaffolding cannot be erected at an outer side of the building. SOLUTION: Furring strips 7d are installed to the outer side of columns 7b or studs 7c, and panels 1 for building are installed to the outer side of the furring strips 7d; a gap is created by the furring strips 7d between the panels 1 and outer faces of the columns and studs; and then a layer of waterproofing paper 6 is applied after installing the panels 1 for the building thereby making an exterior wall structure.
