PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To playback the contents by rearranging it using a small memory capacity. SOLUTION: This playback device generates identification information DI for every content file FL by combining the file identifiers DF of numerical strings showing the hierarchy cycling orders of the content files FL and the rearranging identifiers DS of character strings extracted from the tag data of the content files FL, and registers the pieces of identification information DI in a list file LST one by one listing the rearranging identifiers DS in an ascending order, then stores the list file LST in a USB memory 101. Thus, by reading the list file LST from the USB memory 101, the content files FL can be reproduced in the order the identification information DI are registered in the list file LST.
