PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent material that has a very low softening point, causes no decrease in transmittance exceeding 5% within the visible wavelength region by laser beam irradiation of a wavelength within the ultraviolet region and has a high visible light transmittance. SOLUTION: The organic/inorganic hybrid glassy substance causes no decrease in transmittance exceeding 5% within the wavelength region of 300-800 nm by laser beam irradiation of a wavelength of 330-380 nm and has an average transmittance of at least 85% within the wavelength region of 300-380 nm.
