FEEDBACK IMPEDANCE CONTROL FOR DRIVING A SIGNAL

A system comprises a driver and feedback circuitry. The driver is configured to drive a signal onto a wireline having an impedance load, the signal having an adjustable deterministic characteristic. The feedback circuitry is configured to measure an output characteristic of the signal under influence of the impedance load, to compare the measured output characteristic to an expected value, and to adjust the deterministic characteristic of the signal responsive to a magnitude of a difference between the measured output characteristic and the expected value, the deterministic characteristic being a different characteristic than the output characteristic.
