摘要 A catalyst and a method for transalkylating alkyl aromatic compound using the same are provided to achieve a desirable transalkylating reaction with an excellent catalytic selectivity and exhibit a low ring loss, by forming the catalyst to include rhenium, germanium, and tin. A catalyst is suitable to transalkylate an alkyl aromatic compound. The catalyst comprises a catalytically effective amount of acidic molecular sieve, no less than 0.05 wt% of rhenium calculated on an elemental basis, and a combination of tin and germanium. Under an evaluation condition, the catalyst has a lower ring loss than the substantially same catalyst but not containing tin and than the substantially same catalyst but not containing germanium. Further, an atom rate of the germanium to the rhenium is more than 2:1, and an atom rate of the tin and the rhenium is more than 0.1:1.
