<p>A field emission display device using an external electrode is provided to increase a light emitting area by removing a gate electrode, an insulating layer, and a focusing electrode. A plurality of lower plate internal electrodes(210a) and an emitter(230) are stacked on one side of a lower plate(200a). An upper plate internal electrode(210b) and a phosphor(240) are stacked on one side of an upper plate(200b) facing the emitter. An upper plate external electrode(220b) and a lower plate external electrode(220a) are formed on the other sides of the upper and lower plates in order to emit electric field. A voltage supply unit(270) is connected to the upper plate external electrode and the lower plate external electrode in order to apply a voltage. A switching unit(280) is connected between the upper plate internal electrode and the lower plate internal electrodes.</p> |
