<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce exhaust emission in the case of start while securing the startability and operability of an engine in a vehicle equipped with an engine and an electric motor which assists the engine. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of a vehicle is provided with: an engine 10 in which a suction valve 105 is installed in a suction pipe 104 of each gas column, and intake air quantity is controlled based on request engine torque and an electric motor 20 connected to the output shaft of the engine 10. In the case of starting an engine, motor assist for applying the output of the electric motor 20 to the output shaft of the engine 10 is operated, and the suction control valve 105 is closed to a first predetermined opening so that a gas flow in the combustion chamber of the engine 10 can be enhanced, and the ignition period is delayed to a first predetermined period posterior to a dead point on compression. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
