<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment having such a structure as to provide a satisfactory mechanical strength of the whole electronic equipment while achieving the thinning and reduction in weight of the electronic equipment and, in particular, the electronic equipment having such a structure that members for structure strengthening are made as small as possible so as not to damage merits such as the thinning and reduction in weight of the electronic equipment, nevertheless, the mechanical strength is satisfied if only the members are attached to the irreducible minimum positions and, moreover, unites functions besides the structure strengthening. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment comprises a thin electronic equipment housing and a planar metal chassis 0400 which is arranged in the housing and functions as a structural member, wherein the metal chassis 0400 comprises a chassis flat plane part 0401 which has approximately the same outer shape as the principal plane of the thin electronic equipment housing and electronic components arranged on both surfaces thereof, and side structure protrusions 0402 which are arranged on the outer peripheral part of the chassis flat plane part and enhance the rigidity of the chassis flat plane part.
