PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a configuration that prevents the photographing of a blurred image beforehand while detecting the occurrence of subject blurs caused by the movement of a subject. SOLUTION: A face region is detected from acquired image data of an image pickup device so as to calculate changes in the size of the face region or a moving speed of the face region. The probability of the occurrence of the subject blurs caused by the movement of the subject is verified in consideration of calculation information and a shutter speed. When it is determined that the subject blurs are likely to occur on the basis of the verification result, for example, the display of a warning icon on a monitor, control for photographing inhibition, the automatic adjustment of the shutter speed, or ISO sensitivity adjustment processing or the like is executed.
