PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finishing work method and a finishing work device of a gear capable of carrying out stable shaving work without abnormal abrasion and surface roughness of a shaving cutter while securing high precision. SOLUTION: This finishing work device 1 of the gear shaves and works a tooth surface of the gear W to be ground by engaging the gear W to be ground which is supported by a work gripping part 3 and the shaving cutter 7 supported on a shaving cutter supporting part with each other and is furnished with a vibration generating body 6 to give vibration to at least one of the gear W to be ground and the shaving cutter 7. It is possible to carry out the stable shaving work as slipping frequency of a tooth surface of the shaving cutter 7 and the tooth surface of the gear W to be ground is reduced and the abnormal abrasion of the shaving cutter 7 and the surface roughness of the tooth surface of the gear W to be ground are restrained.
