PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an artificial nail with a gem capable of fixing the gem to a base plate with adhesive without losing its brilliance. SOLUTION: This artificial nail is manufactured by the following method. (1) The dimension of a diamond 2 is measured, (2) A thickness adjusting layer 5 having a prescribed thickness is provided on the upper face of the base material 1 based on the measured dimension. The thickness adjusting layer 5 is so provided as to have a similar thickness to that of a pavilion of the measured diamond 2. (3) An attachment recess 50 for fitting the diamond 2 is formed in the thickness adjusting layer 5. (4) The attachment recess 50 is filled with an adhesive 3 having translucency in a hardened state. (5) Before hardening the adhesive 3, the diamond 2 is inserted into the attachment recess 50 and stuck and fixed therein. The diamond 2 is so fixed as to non-expose the pavilion and expose the upper part including the crown or the girdle from the upper face of the thickness adjusting layer 5.
