The method involves determining braking intention of a driver, and performing brake force distribution for hydraulically actuatable wheel brakes. The brake force distribution in a range of reduced deceleration is performed such that a part of braking force on vehicle wheels of a rear axle is greater than the braking force on vehicle wheels of a front axle. The part of the braking force on the vehicle wheels of the rear axle is exclusively produced by an electric motor in a generator mode.
