<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber unit capable of aligning the optical axes of two mirrors, facing each other, visually without any monitoring using a measuring instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The fiber unit includes a mirror assembly 3 that has a mirror 11 for reflecting light from an optical fiber 35 in a prescribed direction, a mirror assembly 4 that has a mirror 13 for entering light reflected by the mirror 11, reflecting in a prescribed direction, and casting on an optical fiber 36, and a housing 2 that distances these assemblies oppositely and that install them so that the optical axis Of of the reflected light of the mirror 11 is matched with the optical axis Of' of the incident light of the mirror 13. The fiber unit also has heads 5, 6 in which the mirror assemblies 3, 4 are housed and in which the inner side faces 5b, 6b oppositely facing the housing 2 are attached in parallel.
